Affirmations: 3 Ways to Use Them

Take a moment to think about the thought you were just thinking. Whatever you were just thinking about is creating your future. We tend to believe what our mind thinks about the most. What are the quality of your thoughts in this moment? What we tell ourselves reflect our emotional and mental state. One way to help shift your emotions and your future is to use positive affirmations. Affirmations are a fun way to retrain how you think about yourself.

Affirmations are one tool I recommend for anyone looking to shift their life in a simple way. Using them daily provides the best results. There are many different ways to use affirmations. Here are three ways I like to use them:

  1. In the Mirror. A lot of times, mirrors are places to criticize ourselves. They don’t have to be, instead begin to use mirrors to build yourself up. Look into the mirror and say your affirmations to you, while maintaining eye contact with yourself. Though confronting, and hard at first, this is powerful to say that you love yourself and that you accept yourself in the eyes every time you look in the mirror.
  2. Sticky notes. Use sticky notes on your mirror, by your desk, in your car, in your room– anywhere you can read them regularly can help to train your mind when you are least expecting it, anywhere you go.
  3. Voice Recording. There’s something powerful about hearing your own voice telling you that you are worthy, capable, and confident. Hearing your own voice telling you this each day is more meaningful to you then hearing someone else’s voice say these things.

Whatever you want to cultivate in your life is available to you, you just need to believe it’s possible. If you tell yourself something enough times, you’ll start to believe it.

Here are a few affirmations to get you started:
  • I love myself
  • I accept myself
  • I am worthy
  • I trust in the process of life
  • I am healthy
  • I am safe

I have affirmations being posted that go along with each Chakra as well, on their individual posts, and I have a few other posts with lovely affirmation poems for you to take advantage of here and here.

You are so Worthy!
