The Solar Plexus: The Energetic Center of Power, Wisdom, and Identity
The Solar plexus chakra represents our independence, figuring out who we are. We take this independence and enter into our willpower. The will to live and reach our aspirations in life. The main organ system of this chakra is the digestive system. The digestive system is wise; it takes whatever we put into it and knows when to take and when to throw away. There’s fire in belly to digest life’s experiences, the fuel to drive us forward
There are three main aspects to the Solar Plexus Chakra
- Wisdom. One of the main organ systems of the Solar Plexus Chakra is the digestive system. This affects us in the integration of information. The digestive system is wise- it takes whatever we put into it and knows when to take and when to let go. Connecting to this energy center allows us to connect to the wisdom of ourselves, our decision making process, too.
- Power. This is our center of power. It is important to keep our power balanced. To not give our power away too much, but to also not over power and seek to control many things in our life.
- Identity. A part of balancing our sense of power is to find and accept who we are as a person. Maintaining our sense of identity is important to keep up the work of decision making.

Moon in Scorpio is encouraging old wounds to resurface.
This is calling us to dig deep beneath the surface to old patterns or hurts you may feel. It may feel as if this old hurt is happening now, you are revisiting a time when it was real for you. These emotions may be keeping you back from going into the next level in your life.
What’s important is allowing yourself to slow down and feel these emotions if you feel the need to speed through it. If you feel yourself slowing down because of it, realize that emotions are just experiences, you can let them go after they have served their purpose.
Releasing resistance will be helpful.
The flow is heading into the next stage of our lives, if we resist what needs to happen along the way it can be harder for us to get to this next stage. What’s real for us right now is in the present moment. Holding onto things and comparing ourselves with others isn’t going to help us in the long run. Be willing to go deep and experience what’s real– staying present through the hurt will help you to be present when the pain ends and more light comes.

It’s not yoga that heals you. It’s not essential oils that heal you. It’s not medicine or any other thing. It’s the experiences it goes through that cause it to heal. It’s not the mind that takes a drug and then it’s healed, it’s healed from exposure to new perspectives. As we choose these new, healthy, more balanced things in our lives– we become that.
It’s your body that heals itself when it’s awakening. It’s your mind that heals itself when it’s changing perception. Magic happens when we open ourselves up to possibilities and experiences. Even if those experiences hurt– it’s still healing. It’s still growing.
Change is always constant– how about we choose what we change into, instead of going with the default.

On the last day of my yoga teacher training, we gave our final presentations. In the first half, we presented a yoga sequence. For the second half, we talked about our experiences through the teacher training. I was the last one to present– I was so anxious about presenting, everyone before me had gone and done a fabulous job. After I had started presenting, I was crying and way too nervous, I couldn’t follow my notes. It was embarrassing! I couldn’t believe I couldn’t even get through my presentation without having a hard time. When did you last take a nice, full breath?
One of the fastest ways to shift your energy state is by using the breath. Breathing more fully, deeply, and consciously brings much benefit into our lives. The word pranayama alludes to breathwork– breathing using certain patterns and techniques to help the prana to flow through the body. Using the breath helps us to connect our ethereal body to our physical body. The breath itself invites in prana– the vital life force energy.

Last week, I was in a slump for a few days. I was not in the love vibration during this time, nowhere even close to it. I had fallen into patterns of fear and holding resentment towards nearly every area of my life. It was too exhausting to leave my room at times, and I was crying most of the day. How could I let myself get to this point? I thought I was strong, I knew how to get my vibration higher, but I suddenly had no motivation to do so. I thought I could not fall as far as I did. But I let myself fall. My mind wanted to stay in the loops and cycles of fear. How could I come back to love? How could I come back to that light-hearted feeling I once knew so well?
