Pranayama

When did you last take a nice, full breath?

One of the fastest ways to shift your energy state is by using the breath. Breathing more fully, deeply, and consciously brings much benefit into our lives. The word pranayama alludes to breathwork– breathing using certain patterns and techniques to help the prana to flow through the body. Using the breath helps us to connect our ethereal body to our physical body. The breath itself invites in prana– the vital life force energy.

How to Save Yourself

Last week, I was in a slump for a few days. I was not in the love vibration during this time, nowhere even close to it. I had fallen into patterns of fear and holding resentment towards nearly every area of my life. It was too exhausting to leave my room at times, and I was crying most of the day. How could I let myself get to this point? I thought I was strong, I knew how to get my vibration higher, but I suddenly had no motivation to do so. I thought I could not fall as far as I did. But I let myself fall. My mind wanted to stay in the loops and cycles of fear. How could I come back to love? How could I come back to that light-hearted feeling I once knew so well? Exploring the Chakras

The chakras are known as energy “spirals” or “disks”. These energy centers interact with the physical body and they work to feed positive energy and dispose of unwanted energy. The Chakra vitality contributes to the prevention of illnesses, and reflects the overall wellness of the individual.

Chakras and Consciousness

The energy of the seven main chakras reflect states or levels of consciousness, your mindset, and your emotions. The lower chakras reflect the lower vibrations and states of consciousness, while the higher chakras reflect the higher states of consciousness. Continue reading “Exploring the Chakras”

Prana

Prana is the vital life-force energy that runs through us.
In some traditions it’s known as chi, ki, or simply energy. The prana moves through the main energy channels of the body, that are connected with the chakras. The optimal flow of prana reflects the qualities of vibrancy and calm. Prana reflects the life within and flows through the different sheaths or layers of our physical and energy bodies.

Prana needs to be active in our bodies, but not too fast as to overwhelm our system. If it’s too calm, then it grows stagnant. Finding a balance between these two qualities is the goal of practicing yoga. Whatever state we find ourselves in, we can use the different postures or methods in yoga to help balance the energy we find ourselves in.

Love you guys!

Meditation and You

How to be Present

More than anything, I have found that meditation is the best in bringing me to the present moment. Meditation has been proven to decrease physical pain and anxiety. But, what exactly is meditation? It’s a technique used to attain a state of consciousness that’s different from the waking state.

Meditation is focused attention on something. Many people use the breath as their “anchor” for meditation. The joy that comes from meditation is everlasting in our lives. Meditation also leads to being non-reactive to our emotions and thoughts. How do we get to this place of non-reactivity in our lives? Continue reading “Meditation and You”
